When my friend bought a sports MP3 player, I thought she was crazy. If there is anyone who is more accident prone than me, it is her. Although she is an outstanding athlete when she is not on the bench due to injury, those periods are rarer than with most people. She has had a broken arm, a broken leg, several broken fingers, and a fractured skull. The sport MP3 player seem like just one more thing that she could break.
Nonetheless, I was so surprised by how much the MP3 players sports helped her that I was finally tempted into getting one myself. I guess I didn't realize how tough the sport MP3 player was. Back when I was a kid, I had a Walkman that I used to take jogging with me. That lasted for about a month before I had a fall. It broke the very first time, although it was supposed to be a sports Walkman.
The sports MP3 players, however, seem to be more ruggedly made. It's not like the one that I bought is a particularly high end one either. It is just your basic run-of-the-mill sport 128 mb mp3 player. It was practically the cheapest sports MP3 player that I could find, but it seems to work well. It is small and portable, and it has just enough memory for a few albums at a time. It seems to be rugged and durable, but I spent so little money on it that, if it breaks, I won't be crushed.
The best thing about the sports MP3 player, however, is how much it motivates me to exercise. I had forgotten how nice exercising to music is. There are all kinds of tricks to psych yourself up and motivate yourself to get a better workout, but listening to music is one of the best and easiest ones. Sports MP3 players are a great alternative to all of the cheesy music that my local gym plays. With my sports MP3 player, I can listen to what I want when I want to.
If you want to get a sports digital music player, You have to pay a little bit of attention to the format. There is no reason that a sports MP3 player is any better than, say, an Apple iPod. It is just that they use different musical formats. You should look at what music you have so far and see which model of sports mp3 player is compatible.

Casio Digital Piano - The Perfect Instrument
Getting a good electronic keyboard is really the best solution for almost all piano players. Ever since I got my Casio Privia digital piano, it has made my life as a musician so much better. Sure, everyone would rather have a full-sized grand than a Casio digital piano in their living room, but sometimes this is just not practical for some living accommodations.
Although nothing quite gets the feel of a good full sized piano, my Casio digital piano does come pretty close. The fact is that digital technology has really come a very long way in the past several years, and so we can all take advantage of its gains.
My Casio digital piano is fully touch sensitive like a normal piano, meaning that the feeling is close enough to be almost indistinguishable by an inexperienced player. Every note is just the speed and power that I want it at, and the sound is very nearly as good as that of a real piano.
Of course, there are many other advantages to a Casio digital piano aside from the fact that it is more affordable than a real piano. One of these is the portability factor. You can simply take it anywhere that you chose to, which is downright awesome.
If I am playing a show, I can get almost the same performance I would get without arranging for an upright grand to be rolled on to the stage. Honestly, I can just stick it in my back seat, and I am good to go.
Besides that, my Casio digital piano is great for midi. It is just simply so much easier to arrange by midi using the Casio digital piano than it would be to transcribe the notes by hand, and that is no joke. If you are a composer as well as a touring musician, as I am, you really will be hard pressed to go without a midi piano in your studio.
Of course, there are alternatives to a top of the line Casio digital piano. There are much cheaper Casio digital pianos which might be the perfect solution for beginning musicians who still want to get a start and do not have access to a piano.
Although it is always a good idea to rent time on a real keyboard when you are learning, if only to get the feel, the fact is that a beginner Casio digital piano can still give the new student the chance to practice at home.
